How to read xStocks market data

What liquidity, volume, market cap and the gap to the stock price tell you, and what they do not.

Liquidity

Liquidity is the value sitting in the pools where a token trades. It shows how much you can buy or sell before the price moves against you. A token with 20 thousand dollars of liquidity can move several percent on a single 2 thousand dollar trade, while one with millions barely notices. Always check liquidity before reading anything else into a price.

DEX volume and why it looks inflated

DEX volume adds up every swap on the Solana pools of a token. It includes arbitrage bots and trades that hop through several pools, so the same money can be counted more than once. That is why DEX volume is often many times larger than the volume that aggregators report for the same token. Use it to compare activity between tokens, not as a measure of how much real money changed hands.

Market cap and supply

Market cap is circulating supply times price, and for xStocks it approximates how much value is tokenized in total. We take it from CoinGecko, which covers all chains, so it can be larger than what trades on Solana alone. Rankings on this site use market cap because it is far harder to distort than volume.

The gap to the stock price

xStocks follow a real stock, but they trade on their own market. The "vs stock" column compares the token price with a reference stock price. On weekdays during market hours a small gap is normal. When US markets are closed the reference is simply the last close, so the gap shows how the crypto market values the stock without the stock market open. Our weekend page checks how often that gap pointed the right way once the market opened.

What none of this is

These numbers describe the market, they do not predict it. Tokenized stocks carry extra risks, including smart contract risk, issuer risk and thin liquidity, and they may not be available in your country. This is information, not investment advice.
